Do you wish you could buy a 200-mile long printer cable? That's what Teleprint does.
Teleprint doesn't handle job queues, it doesn't know about fonts or page sizes, and it doesn't track cost codes. It just connects software to hardware, in a way that works with the modern internet.
Software such as Google Cloud Print and PaperCut Mobility Print are job-based, allowing you to send print jobs from anywhere to anywhere. These products are used when you want to print normal documents without having to worry about drivers.
Teleprint is the opposite - it allows software to directly talk to the printer device, using the printer's native language. This is needed when your software is designed to talk directly to a printer or similar device, usually involving label printers or high-speed band printers.
If you want to provide a seamless browser-based experience, Teleprint can present a printer connection in an iframe or popup, while appearing as a network print server to your application. Your application connects directly to the printer without code changes.
Teleprint includes various authentication and authorization options to meet your needs, ranging from a simple "master password" to JSON Web Token and RADIUS integration.
What if you don't want a browser involved at all - you just want the printer to stay connected?
The same client-side application that provides web-based connections can load a permanent profile, which will be loaded and connected as soon as the user logs into Windows. The profiles can be sent as JSON documents for import, or you can manually configure connections in the client GUI.
What if you don't want a workstation involved at all - you just want a device? Our Squidprint appliance can directly connect to Teleprint, as well as directly use a wide variety of queueing systems or long-poll a PHP page.
If you're a startup building a SaaS application, dealing with specialty printers can be orthogonal to the rest of your technical stack. Using Teleprint lets your engineers focus on building application value and offloads the weird stuff to us.
